Support Us
First, the important part: every feature on this site is already completely free. This page is not a paywall and not a purchase form. The tools, articles, character library, saved names and contact form all work exactly as before.
Why this page exists
Chinese Naming is an independent one-person project. One maintainer writes the content, checks surname histories and classical sources, builds the tools and keeps the site running. The domain, hosting and the ongoing work of verifying sources and character definitions all take time and a little money. If a surname article, a traced line of poetry or one of the tools has been useful to you, a one-time voluntary contribution helps share that cost. Not contributing changes nothing at all — feel free to skip this page.
What support is, and is not
| Item | What it means |
|---|---|
| Is | A voluntary one-time contribution toward the domain, hosting and content work |
| Is not | A purchase, subscription, membership or any kind of paid unlock |
| Unlocks | Nothing — there are no paid reports, hidden results or locked content on this site |
| Affects | No score, reading or name ranking; supporters and non-supporters see identical results |
| Promises | No priority replies, custom naming, renaming advice or one-to-one consultation |
| Collects | No account, order or payment data; the transaction happens on a third-party platform you choose |
How this relates to the site's content
Support has no connection to any fortune-telling, scoring or auspiciousness output. This site does not predict fate or issue auspicious or inauspicious judgements; every tool result is the output of fixed rules and is offered as cultural entertainment only. It does not constitute professional naming, fortune-telling or legal advice. Name suggestions are never influenced by any commercial relationship, and there is no paid placement on this site. See the disclaimer and our editorial standards.
Ways to support
WeChat Pay, Alipay and PayPal are independent third-party services governed by their own terms. This site has no affiliation, agency or revenue-share relationship with them. Support is a voluntary gift with nothing given in return.
Frequently asked questions
Does supporting the site unlock a more detailed report?
No. There are no paid reports and nothing to unlock. Every page, tool and result is fully open from the start.
Does support affect my scores or name suggestions?
No. All calculations run in your browser. The site does not distinguish between visitors or read any payment status, so supporters and non-supporters see identical results.
Does support buy a custom name or a priority reply?
No. We do not sell naming services, ghostwriting or consultations. Corrections and suggestions go through the contact form and are all treated the same.
Will the site receive my payment details?
No. Support happens on the third-party platform you choose. This site has no accounts, collects no orders or payment data, and never sees your card or account details. See the privacy policy.
Will features be limited if I do not support the site?
No. There is no registration, no login, no quota and no trial period. Every feature is free permanently.
Other ways to help
Pointing out an error, suggesting a source, or sharing the site with someone choosing a baby's name is just as useful. Corrections and suggestions go through the contact form; messages reach the site owner only and are never published.
